I love the advertising copy writing business.
It’s a great way to get paid to write cool and nifty words about products and services.
Some say I have a knack for making the normal not so normal. I take it as a compliment.
For example, we were having this creative brainstorm session about what the latest Viagra campaign was going to center around.
Various ideas flowed like water, but for some reason I had this Elvis Presley tune continue to hammer my head… Viva, Las Vegas.
It was lively, cathcy, and memorable.
The Pfizer people loved it. And now I’m sure many people are hearing that tune in a different light.
Have you seen those commercials where the middle-aged man comes walking into the office with an extra spring in his step and smile on his face?
I call these ads the happy-face-guy ads.
The premise being the cause of his sudden ‘happiness’ being a victory over his erectile dysfunction and a return to the virile activities of youth.
All in all not a bad concept, but I feel the execution of the ads is a bit unrealistic.
No man, however happy in that area, skips around with a toothpick smile and happy-go-lucky attitude (all the time) just because his ED is in check.
A much more subtle and effective campaign is the current Viagra campaign with the real-life actors and situations.
Somehow I knew this day would creep up on me: The day I went to the doctor to inquire about my erectile dysfunction, or ED, problem.
For the better part of two years I tried to stave off the effects of my diabetes with a good diet and exercise regimen, but to no avail.
My body was in overall great shape. My blood sugar was in check most of the time, but the problems I experienced with my ED were becoming too much of an issue to ignore.
Along with my faithful wife, we had our consultation and the doctor explained how cases such as mine were very treatable with a low dose of Viagra 30-45 minutes prior to activity.
